Virginia Coy was born in Ohio. Her family could not be determined.

She attended the Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, the Peabody Institute and Marywood College.

She married Francis A. Coy in 1936 and they had a son Lawrence. They lived in Columbia in 1940 where Francis was a salesman. They later moved to Cleveland.

Virginia had a life-long interest in chiromancy (palm reading). There were long articles on her and this interest in the Cincinnati Enquirer Dec 8, 1974 and Arizona Republic Dec 7, 1975.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Sun City. In Cleveland, she was active in the Art and Health Museums, the Play House, the Orchestra Womens Committee, the Ohio Committee for Sickle Cell Disease, the Institute of Music Board, the Mayor's Reception Committee, Northeastern Ohio Opera Womens Committee, St. Luke's Hospital Womens Board and Who's Who of Women of the World.

She received the Goodwill Industries Board’s highest award for outstanding service, was vice president of the Cleveland Womens Orchestra and was a life member of the American Heart Association.

She was a member of the Intown Club, the 20th Century Club and the Womens City Club, all in Cleveland.

They moved to Sun City West in 1986.

Survivors included her husband, Francis; son, Lawrence; a sister; a brother; and two grandchildren.
