Gilbert R. "Foozie" Stair, 73, of Clinton, died Sunday, March 13, 2005.
Mr Stair was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son.
He was the heart of ACE TV Hardware in Clinton for 52 years and had only
recently retired. He will be greatly missed by his immediate family, numerous
nieces and nephews, and scores of friends. Mr Stair was preceded in death by
his parents; Roy and Ora Smith Stair; and four brothers, Lee J, Frank, Denver,
and Earl Stair. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Sally Stair of Clinton;
his son, Mark Stair and Carol Galloway of Harriman; his granddaughter,
Stefanie Stair of Knoxville; his mother-in-law, Lois Greene of Clinton; two
brothers, Brooks Stair and wife, Blanche, of Clinton, and Ervin Stair and wife,
Pearl, of Knoxville; four sisters, Mary Ellen Bittle of Lake City, Martha
Alderson of Norris, Ora Lou Perkins and husband, Raymond, of Clinton, and
Dean Leham and husband, Fred, of Chicago, IL; and also by four sisters-in-law,
Jeanette Stair of Clinton, Ada Stair of Florida, Icky Stair of Clinton, and Patsy
Stair-Lomeli and husband, Al, of Clinton. The family eulogy will be held at
8 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gilbert "Foozie"
Stair Memorial Fund, in care of Briarcliff Health Care Center, 100 Elmhurst Drive,
Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
