ROCHESTER, NY: Bernice Mae Cook, age 71, of Rochester, New York, passed away at 2:07 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Highland Hospital in Rochester.

She was born March 14, 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence Homer and Dorothy Louise Mayle Cook. She was of the Protestant faith and a 1959 Graduate of Marion High School in Chesterhill, Ohio. Bernie retired as an Optical Engineer from the Eastman Kodak Company of New York, having worked from 1966 - 2005.

She is survived by one brother: Robert E. Cook and his wife, Thelma, of Columbus, Ohio; one sister: Joann Hill, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one half sister: Jennie Cook, of Stockport, Ohio; ten nieces, one nephew, and several great and great, great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Wilbur Hill Sr.

Services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Mt. Hermon Community Church near Amesville, Ohio with Pastor Junior Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill on Thursday, July 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.
