Mae Cox was born in Kansas, a daughter of Clinton M. Clark 1868–? and Etta Saxton 1870–?. She had siblings Varah E. 1894-1975 #177136781, Irma 1897–?, and Harry 1903–?.

She married Charles Nelson Cox and they had a daughter Carol.

They were in Berkeley, California in 1930 where he was a clerk. They lived in rural Idaho in 1935 but by 1940 they were in Concord, California where he was a school teacher at Mt. Diablo Union High School.

They moved to Sun City in I985 from Concord. California.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist.

Survivors included her husband, Charles; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Crooker of Peterborough, N.H.; sister, Mrs. Varah Goodrich oi Sun City; and a brother out of state.
