Jason Scott Harper was born in Glendale, California on October 30, 1972. He attended Glenoaks Elementary school, Wilson Junior High School and Glendale High School. Jason was a member of the UCLA volleyball team which won three NCAA championships and he graduated in 1996. He earned a Master's degree in education from Chapman University and taught in Manhattan Beach, El Segundo and Carlsbad school districts.
Jason was taken from us August 7, 2012 leaving behind his 3 children; Jake, 8; Jackie, 6 and Josh 19 months; his parents, Homer and Lina Harper; brother and sister in law, Brian and Nicole and niece, Madelynn.
Jason had integrity, was honest and taught his children what is right. He had high expectations for himself as a teacher and a volleyball coach. He was completely involved in the daily care of his children.
A celebration of life will be held at The Daybreak Church at 6515 Ambrosia Lane, Carlsbad, CA 92011 on Friday August 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Hawaiian shirts and flip flops are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Harper Education Benefit Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank.
