Howard "Fillmore" Dixon, 78, of Clear Fork, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV.

He was born April 29, 1938 in Beeson, WV a son of the late Howard L. "John" Dixon (1918-Deceased) and Josephine Beaver-Dixon (1917-2006).

Fillmore was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, attended the Advent Christian Church and a member of the UMWA.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Carol Fleenor-Dixon (1941-2004) whom he married on June 29, 1961 in Oceana, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1961, Page 109, Application Date: June 23, 1961); and a brother, Charles "Dudney" Dixon (1935-2015).

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 8 1/2 years, Janett Short-Goins-Dixon; two children, Renee Dixon-Brown & Ronald Brown, and Howard Fillmore Dixon Jr. all of Jarratt, VA; two grandchildren, Ashley Brown-Page & Chris Page of Jarratt, VA and Austin Noah Dixon of Emporia, VA; two great grandchildren, CJ Page and Drew Page; two sisters, Judy Dixon Francis & Sam Francis of Glen Fork and Mary Dixon-Cline of Pineville; a brother, Ballard Dixon & Wilhelmina Dixon of Oceana.

Also surviving are two stepsons, James "Keith" Goins of AL and Jason Edward Goins & Tracy Goins of Salisbury, NC; step-grandchildren, Erika (Hayes) Lusk of Clear Fork, Jarrod Goins of Man, Josh Goins and Ashley Goins both of Salisbury, NC; step-great grandchildren Hayden Lusk, Breella Lusk and Jaxton Goins; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 17, 2017 in the Advent Christian Church, Clear Fork, WV, with Rev. Sam Francis and Rev. Eddie B. Aliff officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
