Mrs. HELEN DAVIS, wife of J.C. Davis, superintendent of Antietam National Cemetery, died Wednesday at her home in Sharpsburg from paralysis, aged 63 years. Mrs. Davis was stricken last Friday and her condition was regarded as hopeless.
Mrs. Davis was a Miss Winghell and a native of Dutchess County, NY.
Supt. and Mrs Davis removed to Sharpsburg about five years ago and have made many friends in the community. The deceased was a devoted wife and possessed many admirable qualities which endeared her to her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband and a brother residing in Ohio.
Funeral Friday afternoon, services at the house by Revv. A.A. Kerlin; interment in the National Cemetery.
