She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Jim, who she had been married to for 50 years; Charlotte was also preceded by her parents Thomas and Adela, sisters Angie and Mary, and her brother Daniel.
She leaves her siblings Tom, Albert (Sharon) and Dolores Duarte. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember Uncle Jim and Aunt Charlotte by so many memories; her stepdaughter Lyn Stapleton (Dean) and Steve McDaniel (Linda).
Charlotte was born May 19, 1926 in Mendota California.
She came with her family from Mendota and settled in Clarksburg. She attended Bates Elementary and Courtland High School.
She stared working in the Eastern Department store in 1953 in the business office, and also did a little modeling for the store. When the store closed, she went to work for Data Factors, where she handled many business accounts for the major department stores in Sacramento. Her last employment was USAA Insurance Co. She loved her job and always commented about the new things she was learning in the insurance field. She retired after 10 years.
She loved to cook and bake (I can attest to the best carrot cake ever). She also enjoyed gardening, and was always in competition with his sister-in-law Angie about who grew the biggest and best tomatoes.
She loved camping and Bodega Bay. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and aunt.
You have been my second mother and I will miss you. Nita
