Gene Thomas “John” Robertson, 85, of Winchester, died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was born December 12, 1931 at Winchester, the son of Lee William and Sadie Irene Pemberton Robertson. “John” graduated from Winchester High School in 1950. He worked as a Steel Burner for Missouri Valley Steel for 35 years. He also worked as a butcher at the Winchester Locker plant. “John” was the President of the Winchester-Wise Cemetery Association and a member of the Red Rock Coyote Hunters. He married Vada Marlene Muncie on June 15, 1955 at Atchison, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Janet (Louis) Bruce, Lyons, KS, Jean (Fred) Noll, Atchison and Jane Henry, Winchester, a daughter-in-law, Jody Robertson, Winchester, two brothers, Jack Robertson, Olympia, WA, Ray Robertson, Pottsboro, TX, two sisters, Hazel Lockhart, Fresno, CA, Patty Warbritton, Concrete, WA, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gene “Little John” Taylor Robertson, a son-in-law [Wayne Edward Henry], two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18 at Barnett Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Winchester-Wise Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Winchester-Wise Cemetery Fund c/o the funeral home.
