Capulin resident Jose “Joey” Manuel Archuleta, 54, passed away January 15, 2017. Joey was welcomed into the world on February 17, 1962, the son of Eloy Archuleta and Josie Quintana Archuleta. Joey was the most kind-hearted, outgoing and loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who was always a friend to all.

He was an avid Denver Broncos fan, he loved listening to music, being outdoors, going fishing and hunting. Joey’s greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his daughter, family and friends. Joey will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother Josie Archuleta of Capulin, CO; his daughter Erika Archuleta, of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Rita Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; Hilda (Ray) Gonzales of Grand Junction, CO; Maxine (Scott) Bradfish of Portland, OR; Rose (Tony) Garcia of Castle Rock, CO; brothers Alfred (Emma) Archuleta of La Jara, CO; Valoy (Naomi) Archuleta of Littleton, CO; Lee Archuleta of Seattle, WA; Chris Archuleta of Capulin, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joey is preceded in death by his father Eloy Archuleta, grandparents Jasper and Rosabelle Quintana and Jose Manuel and Barbara Archuleta.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, Jan 20, 2017 at 6PM at St. Joseph Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, Jan 21, 2017 at 11AM also at St. Joseph Church in Capulin. Inurnment will be held at a late date at the Capulin Cemetery. The care of arrangements has been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Antonito.
