SAVANNAH - Franklin Benjamin Pierce, 79, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Frank was born on Feb. 9, 1937, in Monks Corner, SC. He was a United States Air Force veteran and spent his life on Tybee Island after retiring from the USAF in 1975 after 21 years of service. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Amy Dickey Pierce.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Pierce Delamater (David), his sons, Benjamin M. Pierce (Lerma) and Dennis F. Pierce (Carolyn); his grandchildren, David Tucker (Jen), Franklin Pierce, Thomas (“TJ”) Pierce (Christy), Erin Delamater and Kari Delamater; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be sent to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 802 Lovell Avenue, Tybee Island, GA 31328.
