Sarah M. Loehr, 83, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at McLeod Loris Hospital.

Born on December 9, 1928 in Conway, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Whiteford and Docia Owens McCracken. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Edward L. Loehr, Sr.

Mrs. Loehr was a graduate of Conway High School and Horry Georgetown Technical College. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She recently resided in Banner Elk, NC, where she was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. A devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and visiting with family and friends.

Surviving Mrs. Loehr are two sons, Edward L. Loehr, Jr. of North Myrtle Beach and Thomas O. Loehr of Chesterfield, VA; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at 11 am on Saturday, September 15, with Pastor George Wright officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dr. Charles Stanley, In Touch Ministries, P.O. Box 7900, Atlanta, GA 30357.
