In 1953 Bill married Sally Ann Allen of Watertown, NY, moved to College Park while attending Georgia State University and then moved his family to Cobb County, Georgia in 1955 where they raised eight children. Bill worked in Banking, Insurance and Real Estate for the next 25 years before moving to Waynesburg, PA where he was employed as a Right of Way Agent until his retirement in 1998.
He was married to his second wife, Jane Cole, from Waynesburg, PA until her death in early 1998. He moved to Meridian, MS and married his high school sweetheart, Joanne Battle. There Bill and Joanne were very active in their church and community serving Meals on Wheels for over 16 years until they moved to Canton, Georgia in 2014 where they were close to family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joanne; seven of his children; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 with a visitation preceding beginning at noon at the Waleska UMC at Reinhardt University.
