Kathy I. “Cookie” Lewis, 64, was a daughter of the late Paul and Wilma (Breeden) Evans Newlon. Mrs. Lewis attended the Bladensburg Church of Christ and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Kathy was also a loving foster mother for many, many children over the years.
Surviving is her loving husband of over 48 years, Dan Lewis whom she married September 2, 1968; two sons, Travis Lewis and Trevor Lewis, both of Utica; five daughters, Tina (Damon) Kent of Howard, Tila (Nathan) Elliott of Martinsburg, Tara (David) Lewis of Utica, Tylena Lewis of Mt. Vernon and Tanesha Lewis of Utica; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, John Evans of Martinsburg and Steve (Linda) Evans of Newark; two sisters, Lynda Maidel and Betty (Mel) Shipley, both of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Lewis, a brother, Jerry Evans and her step-father, James Newlon.
