Earl Lee Elliott of Fairview, Texas passed away on February 11, 2017 at the age of 85.  He was born on August 19, 1931 to John and Katie (Coppic) Elliott in Jenny Lind, Arkansas.  Earl grew up in Paris, Arkansas where he attended schools. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 8, 1948 and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.  Earl was honorably discharged on June 5, 1952.  He married Bernice Rogers on June 15, 1957 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Earl was the Port Engineer in Houma, Louisiana for 24 years until his retirement in 1988.  Following retirement, he owned and operated Elliott Marine until 2015.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Allen, Texas.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bernice Elliott of Fairview, Texas; children, Susan Matherne and husband, Mark of Richardson, Texas, David Elliott and wife, Emily of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel Matherne and wife, Crystal, Kathy Heimburg and husband, Dayne, Sarah Duarte and husband, Alvaro, Rachel Elliott and Rebecca Elliott; great-granddaughter, Cecilia Duarte; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest Elliott and John Elliott; sisters, Alta Booth, Pauline Webb and Doris Schmaltz.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
