Grantham, NH -- Dwight S. Wilder, 70, of Grantham, NH passed away on Wednesday, Feb 8, 2017.

Dwight was born on December 24, 1946 in Westfield, New Jersey to Glenn and Marion Wilder.

He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1968.

Dwight is remembered as an educator, craftsman, and storyteller. He volunteered with many organizations including the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Chatham Trail Association, and served as an assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 32 in Hooksett in his sons' youth.

His hobbies included hiking in the White Mountains, painting, and a living history portrayal of Theodore Roosevelt.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 21 years; Margaret Holland; his son Tom Wilder, daughter-in-law Naomi, and grandson Andrew of Schenectady, New York; his son Doug Wilder of Quincy, Massachusetts; his brother John Wilder and his wife Roberta of Sanford, North Carolina; his sister Cornelia Newman and her husband Michael of Westville, South Africa.

Dwight will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, a friend to many. His sharp wit and notorious sense of humor brought smiles and groans to all who knew him, much to his delight.

In lieu of flowers, Dwight's family invites memorial donations to the Chatham Trails Association. More information can be found at www.Chathamtrails.org .

Calling hours will be held at Ricker Funeral Home, Lebanon, NH on Thursday, February 16, from 4pm to 7pm.

A memorial will be held this spring, at a date to be determined.
