Mary "Polly" Moore was a daughter of Lawrence Moore (c. 1764-1817) and his third wife Tabitha Lockhart Moore (1771-1848), who was also his cousin. They were married in Bertie Co., NC in 1798, but appear to have moved to Anson County soon thereafter.

From the "Raleigh Minerva," Raleigh, NC, 19 Dec. 1817: "MARRIED, in Anson County, late, MR. REDDICK DEAN to MISS MARY MOORE." I don't know what "late" means, perhaps lately?

From the "Pee Dee Herald," Wadesboro, NC, 16 July 1879: "Died: Near this town, on Saturday, the 12th inst., Mrs. Polly DEAN."

Reddick and Polly Dean had at least six children: Moore Dean (1830-1901,went to Spartanburg, SC), Martha Dean (c. 1832), Penelope Dean (1833-1895), Elizabeth Dean (c. 1838-c. 1873, m. Edmund Gray Taylor), Tabitha Dean (c. 1843-1880s, m. Daniel K. Beachum), Harriet "Hattie" Dean (c. 1844-1925, Mrs. Martin Long).

I am not sure that Polly and Reddick are buried here, at her parents' cemetery, but it seems likely.
