Tom Kuhn, 71, of Viola, Illinois, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, February 11, 2017, at home.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born May 24, 1945, in Ridgecrest, California, the son of Cecil and Norma (Roberts) Kuhn.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
Marrying Rose VanDeWoestyne on June 8, 1965, in Springfield, Missouri.
Tom was a diesel mechanic for Mississippi Trucking and Trailer.
He enjoyed gardening, archery, and weaving on his 150-year old loom. He and Rose were foster parents for over 800 children.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Rose; children, Thomas Kuhn of Missouri, Lori Caudill of Bettendorf, Josh Kuhn of Iowa, and Brandy Kuhn of Rock Island; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jenny, Lucy, Earl, and Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alan.
