Alice Marie Fatheree, 92, formerly of Wayne City, passed away at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, where she had been a long-time resident.

She was born on December 25, 1924 in Marion County, IL to Thomas Pittman and Ella (Cole) Roux.

She first married Dale Roy Holleman, four daughters were born into this union, Maryann (Harold) Allen of Orchardville, Gail Holleman of Wayne City, Katie (James) Meyers of Wayne City, and Linda (Archie) Butcher of Orchardville.

She then married Lawrence Fatheree, he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law Harold Allen, three sisters, one brother and two great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a cousin.

Alice was the former owner and operator of Wayne City Sundries, she enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, cooking, fishing and gardening. She also was a long time member of the Wayne City Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Poplar Creek Community of Christ Church.

Per Alice's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Poplar Creek Community of Christ Church in Orchardville, where visitation will be held one hour prior. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow services.

Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne is in charge of arrangements.
