Ada is a daughter of John Conrad Walz and Eliza Mueller - the fifth of six children. She grew up in the Rexburg area of Madison County, Idaho.

Ada served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States mission. She departed for the mission on July 18, 1929. She is on the 1930 Census in Minneapolis, Minnesota which would have been an area of the mission.

Ada married William Henry Chace on October 21, 1937 in Logan, Utah. He was from Jacksonville, Florida. They made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. They adopted a son, Eugene Burnett Chace (1938-2002).

Ada was found to have breast cancer and had an operation in July 1951. She died of the disease two years later.
