Jay R. Eyestone, 77, retired farmer, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at his home near Vanlue from a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered a week ago.
Mr. Eyestone was born July 17, 1858 near Lemert, Ohio, the son of George and Harriett (Combs) Eyestone. He was married October 13, 1897, to Alpha C. Wilcox who survives along with five of their six children.
They are Mrs. Frances Loader of near Vanlue; Allen Eyestone, Gibsonburg; Harley Eyestone, Tiffin; Paul Eyestone, Medina and Stanley Eyestone, near Vanlue.
He is survived also by one brothers, Freeland Eyestone, of Sycamore, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the home and 3 p.m. from the Vanlue U.B. church with the pastor, Rev. Floyd Watt, officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.
The body was taken to the residence from the Bristol funeral home in Carey last night.
