Paul D. Abbey, 82, of Kalkaska, passed away on May 29, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 6, 1930 in Lakeview, the son of the late Neri and Wave (Corner) Abbey.

Paul was a veteran serving our country during the Korean War in the US Army. He married Evelyn Kuehl on March 24, 1956 in Clare. Together they moved from Harrison in 1977 to Kalkaska. Paul retired from working in the oil fields and began working for Walmart in Traverse City in the photo lab for the last 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on his yard, in his shed and the fish pond.

Surviving Paul is his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn; children, Judy L. (Daniel) Heller of South Boardman, Donald P. (Belinda) Abbey of Rapid City, Douglas E. Abbey and Jerry L. (Lorrie) Abbey all of Kalkaska, 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Paul in death were his two sisters and six brothers.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 1st at 1:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church with visitation starting at noon. Pastor Chad Hoover will be officiating.
