A longtime resident of Riverside, CA, passed away March 8, 2009 at Air Force Village West. Born February 8, 1929, in Austin, TX, to Erwin and Lena Lang, he was welcomed by sisters, Ruth and Erline. After his mother died in 1935, his father married Annie Mae Feuge. Stan gained step-sister Juanita and step-brothers Orson, Alfred and Joe. Half-brother, Erwin C. "Buddy", was later born to Erwin A. and Annie Mae. Stanley married Dolores Doreck on June 25, 1949, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Galveston, TX. After he was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1952, they moved to California, living first in Orange County before settling in Riverside. He studied Business Management at Long Beach State College, graduating in 1958, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Citrus Belt Law School in 1974. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Lang's Empire Building Materials, as well as running the Lang Family Christmas Tree Farm until 2007. He was thankful for all his loyal customers at both businesses, and glad to be part of so many Riversiders' Christmas celebrations. Stand enjoyed singing - Barbershop harmony with the Citrus Belters Chorus, the Masters of Harmony, and others. He also sang in the choir at Hope Lutheran Church and served in lay leadership there, most recently in the Youth Education Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores, and son-in-law, Jim Smith. He is survived by his children, Debbie (Robert) Daniels of Chadwick, MO; Donita Smith of Riverside, CA; Drew (Melinda) Lang of Riverside, CA; Dede (David) Leece of San Luis Obispo, CA; and Stacey (Scott) Brown of Riverside, CA; His grandchildren are: Aaron (Charity) Daniels, Seth (Jodie) Daniels, Leah (J.C.) Cook; Lindsay and Paige Smith; Tori and Tyler Lang; Jono, Michael, and Stephen Leece; Audra and Brendan Brown. His great-grandchildren are: Devon, Jessica, and Zeke Daniels; RaShelle, Nicole, and Hailey Cook. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2009, at Hope Lutheran Church in Riverside at 4:00pm. Reception following. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hope Lutheran Church Youth Education Department.
