Rev. Dillard Fitzgerald, 94, of Gainesville passed away February 15, 2017 at his residence following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on November 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Alexander Fitzgerald and Minnie Sloan Fitzgerald.

He was in the Emmanuel Gospel Fellowship Group. Rev. Fitzgerald was in the ministry for 50 years and was ordained for 40 years.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Fitzgerald is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Agnew Fitzgerald; daughters, Martha Gilling, Barbara Banks, Pat Transue and Nancy Adams.

Rev. Fitzgerald is survived by his son and daughter in law, Jimmy (Juanita) Fitzgerald of Toccoa; daughters and sons in law, Judy (Jorge) Lopez of Gainesville, Peggy (Buzz) Curtin of Gainesville, Teresa (Bobby) Coffee of Suwanee; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
