Mrs. Rogers retired as a public school teacher in 1969. She taught in Somerville, Manville and Franklin Township schools for 27 years. Mrs. Rogers received her education in Somerville schools, the University of Delaware and Rutgers College.
For years Lee belonged to the New Jersey Professional Art League Association and the Raritan Valley Art Association, serving as president one year and exhibition chairman of the Raritan Valley Art Association three years. She received many awards for her work in oils.
Mrs. Rogers lived in Somerville all her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Leonora Matyola of Branchburg; a grandson, Gregory Matyola; a brother, Hugh Rosania of Coronado, Calif.; and a sister, Pat Papen of Dover, Del. Her husband, Daniel Rogers, died in 1973.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Eucharistic League of Immaculate Conception Church of Somerville.
A funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Union Avenue, Somerville. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Hubert's Giralda Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 5281, North Branch, NJ 08876
