Jimmy Ray Farmer age 65, of Grassy Creek, NC died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Farmer was born February 10, 1951 in Washington , DC to James and Lois Calhoun Farmer. Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Larry Farmer and James Randall Farmer. Mr. Farmer was a member of Farmer's Memorial Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home by Pastor Spencer Roark and Rev. J. D. Walton. Burial will follow in Farmers Memorial Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Farmer is survived by: His wife, Lola Jane Farmer, sons, Ray Farmer of Lansing, Rick Farmer of Butler, TN and Michael Greer of Grassy Creek, his father and step-mother James and Janie Farmer of Lansing, Brother, Danny Joe Farmer of Creston, Sister, Katherine Doty of Creston, step-brother, Jeff Parsons of Lansing, step-sister, Sherry Richardson of Lansing also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
