Mrs. Fannie Walters Dies in West Newton
Mrs. Fannie Frances Walters, age 71, wife of Young P. Walters, passed away Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at her home near West Newton. She had been ill about five weeks…..burial will take place in Greenlawn cemetery.
Born May 10, 1868 in Brown county, Mrs. Walters was one of nine children of William and Sarah Ashley. Three brothers and a sister remain: Walter and Charles Ashley of Nineveh; Carrey Ashley of Cumberland; and Mrs. Addie Morris of Longacre.
Mrs. Walters left Brown county at the age of 24, upon her marriage to Mr. Walters on March 20, 1892. They began housekeeping 3 miles south of Franklin in the Young’s Creek community, where they resided until five years ago when they moved to West Newton.
The couple had four children, all of whom are living…. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Walters a member of the Young’s Creek Christian church, was greatly devoted to her home and her pleasant disposition made her loved by all who knew her.
