He was born Oct. 31, 1949 and was a 1967 graduate of Hamburg High School. He was an employee of Barnes Lumber Company for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Earnestine Moore; his wife, Rosie Moore; two brothers, Sampson Cook and Nugene Moore; and two sisters, Ruby Dean Moore and Lawanda Franklin.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories two sisters, Mary Ann Jackson of Monroe, La., and Lummie Wright of Crossett; one daughter, Connie Stokes of Elmhurst, Ill.; one son, Billy Moore of Harvey, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Gulley of Ft. Worth, Texas; four stepssons, Willie Gulley, Mario Gulley, and William Gulley, all of Hamburg, and Tyrone Gulley of Ft. Worth; 15 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 404 Martin Luther King St. in Hamburg with the Rev. Horace Ingram officiating. Burial in Phillip Grove Cemetery will follow under the direction of Mitchell Memorial Funeral Services.
Active pallbearers are Clyde Leonard, John Young, James Adams, Willie Gulley, Tyrone Gulley, Glen Stanley, Timothy Downs, and Tico Turner.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Hamburg High School Class of 1967.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
