"Ann Wittinger (95) loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and companion passed peacefully away in Vancouver Washington on February 5, 2017.

"Ann was born to Emanuel and Katharina (Fleck) Hartman on November 4, 1921 on a farm outside of Fayette, North Dakota. She was the last living of 8 siblings: Tony, Tillie, Adolph, Emmanuel, Ida, Frank and Katherine. She graduated from Killdeer High School.

"She was married to John Wittinger in 1941 and resided on the Wittinger farm until 1948 when the family moved to Portland, Oregon for health reasons and has lived in the area ever since. She & John raised two children Donna (Fagan, Noce) and Rodney.

"She was widowed in 1981 and continued to be socially active with companions Bill Semon and Dick Henderson. She worked in Portland for many years on fashion design at Jantzen & Columbia Knit and as a receptionist for her son-in-law, Dr. Tom Fagan until his death when she retired.

"Ann is survived by two children, six grand children and eight great grand children.

"She was very active in family life. The life of a party, Ann came from a family of musicians & loved to dance at the Elks Lodge (polka, etc.), sing & play music. She was also an avid golfer, bowler, conversationalist & RV traveler."
