Margaret F. Zimmerman, age 89 of Cloquet, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Inter–Faith Care Center in Carlton, MN. She was born on June 11, 1927 in Wallasey, England to Frank and Beatrice (Smith) Woodburn.

Margaret married Wendley Zimmerman on June 5, 1954 in Barnum, MN, and they lived in Willow River for many years. She was employed as a cook for the Sacred Heart Elementary School and the Cloquet School district over the years. Margaret was a member of the Cloquet Presbyterian Church, Women’s Auxiliary VFW and Cloquet Memorial Hospital.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Phyllis (Jack) Almond, Violet Brown and Alan (Rene) Woodburn; and her sister in-law, Clara (Bill) Marihart.

She is survived by her daughters: Lynn (Leonard) Lind, Jill (Chad Hough) Bartl, and Cindy (Steve Ritter) Eknes; grandchildren: Tara (Doug) Rotta, Daniel (Veronica) Tempes, Jessica (Mark) Zahn, Jason (Blythe) Bartl and Justin Bartl; and six great grandchildren.

Burial in the spring in Maple Grove Cemetery.
