Henry Barker came west from Virginia and arrived in Cape Girardeau County Missouri between 1870 and 1880. His actual date of birth is likely to be as given (about 1831). His likely county of birth in Virginia was Lee County as his father Henry Abraham Barker is documented as living in that county in 1830. No death record has been found so the DoD given is speculative and based upon his last documented appearance (in the 1890 veterans census, Finley Township, Webster County) and a few supporting but undocumented facts. His likely PoD was Webster County somewhere near Finley and Seymour (given as his place of residence in 1890), but again there is no currently existing grave or other supported documentation.
