Branchville - Willie Carlisle (Bud) Myers, 92, of Branchville, S.C., passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the C.M. Tucker nursing facility, in Columbia, SC. .He was born in Branchville, a son of the late Willie G.(Bill)and Lurline Myers. Bud grew up in Branchville, and after attending Branchville High School, enlisted in US Navy during World War II. He was on many ships in the Atlantic and after the war ended, he married the love of his life, Clarice McAlhany; they had two sons, Terry and Dwight. This marriage lasted for over 70 years until she passed in February, 2017. After his military service, he began his career in Textile Manufacturing, where he was Shipping Manager and eventually Plant Manager of the Branchville Shirt Company. He was also in management with several other garment plants, in Orangeburg, and retired after over 40 years service in the textile industry. During his retirement, he loved gardening, working in his yard, watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball, loving his family, and attending the Branchville Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, served as Trustee and Deacon for many years(a member for over 70 years). Bud is survived by his two sons, Terry Myers (Pam) of Chapin and Dwight Myers (Evlynne) of Burlington, N.C.; his grandchildren, Ryan Myers (Tammy) of Lexington, Keith Myers (Angela) of Cary, Jodi Grubbs (Todd) of Barnwell, and Sarah (Chad). He is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Christopher Myers, Brittany Myers, Bradley Myers, Adam Myers, Kevin Myers, Dillon Grubbs, Carrie Grubbs, Cassi Grubbs, Catlin Grubbs, Claire Grubbs, and Lane. He is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren, Emma Myers and Patrick Myers. In addition, Bud was loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife Clarice, his sister, Gladys Byrd, and brothers, Joe Benny Myers, Everette Myers, and Jack Myers. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, November 25, in the Branchville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., at the church, with the Rev.
