Gilberto Ramirez, 58, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rotan, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.

Born March 3, 1958, in Mathis, Texas, Gilbert was the son of Eva Alaniz and Alfonso Ramirez. He graduated from Rotan High School. Gilbert was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rotan Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a Godparent.

He is preceded in death by his nephew, Jose Alaniz; his uncle, Benito Alanis Jr.; grandparents Benito and Inez Alaniz; two cousins, Victor Munoz Jr., Augustine Alaniz; and infant niece, Davida Fatima Lopez Carrion, who passed away April 13, 2000.

Gilbert is survived by his mother and step-father, Eva Carrion and Rogerio Carrion Sr. of Rotan; two daughters, Krystle Hernandez (Oscar) of Rotan and Kristen Ramirez of Bakersfield, California; two brothers, David Carrion (Lori) of Eden, and Rogerio Carrion Jr. (Melisa) of Snyder; one sister, Tiny Rogers of Lubbock; three nephews, Alejandra Carrion, Julian Carrion, and Isiah Carrion of Eden; and two nieces, Jaycee Carrion and Natalia Carrion of Snyder.
