Penny Lynn Barnett of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on February 8, 2017 at the Hillsdale Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1957 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Willie and Gladys (Stone) Cole.
Penny is survived by her mother, Gladys Cole; her husband, Neil Barnett; three daughters, April (Luke) VanCamp, Andrea (Amigo) Ortiz, and Amber (Shannon) Pickford; eight grandchildren, Brianna VanCamp, Abby Ortiz, Jacob VanCamp, James VanCamp, Quinn Ortiz, Ethan Pickford, Tate Ortiz, and Madison Pickford; five siblings, Alan (Rhonda) Cole, Pam Cole, Christina Stover, Douglas Cole and Cathy (David) Burlew.
She was preceded in passing by her father, Willie Cole and one sister, Peggy Walkinhood.
Penny was a member of the Crossroads Community Church. She was well known for cake decorating skills and her wonderful cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also traveling with her husband Neil on the Harley. Her most enjoyable vacation was a Bahama Cruise with her entire family.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Penny Lynn Barnett will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Monday, February 13, 2017 beginning at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Doug Plunkett officiating. Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 12th from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home. They will also receive friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Friends who wish, may make memorial contributions to the Hillsdale Hospital.
