Waynesville - William Hobert Green, 88, of Stevenson Cove Road, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center.

He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late William Jonas and Bertha Haney Green. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Howard Green, and a sister, Elsie Sanford.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer for 35 years and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, rabbit hunting and horseback riding.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby Bryson Green; three daughters, Kathy Green of Waynesville, Peggy Sue Parkins of Clyde and Anna Jean Plemmons and her husband, Reid, of Brevard; three sons, Kevin Green and his wife, Judy, Billy Green and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Waynesville, and Keith Green and his wife, Becky, of Maggie Valley; one sister, Mazie Harrell of Waynesville; one brother, R.J. Green of Waynesville; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Antioch Baptist Church. The Revs. Steve Taylor and Ted Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
