On April 8, 1937, Louise Butler Black was born to the late Leroy and Juanita Butler of Oneonta, Alabama. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio after completing her education at Sand Valley High School. For many years she worked for S.E. I. U. at Local 47 Cleaning Contracting Company and retired in 2004. Later she and her husband Elvie (Mitchell) Black, started their own cleaning company and also worked as a childcare teacher/caregiver at Wallace Little Angels Daycare. She received a certificate of recognition for school volunteer services for the Cleveland Public Schools.

She became a Christian at an early age in Oneonta, Alabama. When she moved to Cleveland, she placed her membership with Garden Valley Church of Christ and remained faithful throughout her life. She enjoyed working as a servant for Christ; providing food for the less fortunate in surrounding communities. She served as a member of the Garden Valley Church of Christ Outreach Ministry. She also used her distinctive voice to sing at various functions.

On February 5, 2017, she departed this life at University Hospital. Although she faced many challenges, she never gave up but instead became more determined to live life to the fullest.

Preceding her in death were two brothers: Leon and Bethester Butler and four sisters: Lorine Stockdale, Ollie Phillips, Bernice Butler and Ruby Miller and two children: Charles Boston Aniton and Vanessa F. Whitlow.

Louise leaves to cherish her memories, her granddaughter Danasia Whitlow, her son-in-law Danny Whitlow of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters: Frances Tilman of Boston, MA, Betty Oliver of Randolph, MA, and Esther Large of Oneonta, AL, three brothers: Jesse Butler and Nathaniel Butler (Doris) of Oneonta, AL and Theotus Butler (Patricia) of Loganville, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11AM from Oneonta Church of Christ with burial following at Old Liberty Cemetery. Ministering Evangelist Charles Parker officiating.
