Janice had worked for Albertson’s Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician for several years. Then on December 3, 1988 she married Ronald “Ronnie” Stackhouse in Maud, Oklahoma. At that time she became a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
Janice was a member of the Old First Baptist Church in Maud. She and Ronnie were members of the “Lincoln County 66 Cruisers,” from 1993 until 2009. They were also members of the “Almost Ready to Cruise Car Club,” where Janice had served as the Secretary/Treasurer from 1996 until she had a stroke in 2008.
For the past seven plus years, Janice has been in Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center in Seminole and most recently in Parkland Manor Care Center in Prague, Oklahoma. Although her mind was sharp her body wouldn’t cooperate. She became well known for her birthday, and anniversary calls. She could remember telephone numbers, the birth and anniversary dates of just about everyone she knew.
Janice truly gave her love unconditionally, and taught us all that it’s not what you have, it’s who you have.
Janice leaves to cherish her memories, her former husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Stackhouse of Maud, Oklahoma; two sons, Ronald Dean Stackhouse of Seminole, Oklahoma, Larry Clayton of Piedmont, Oklahoma; two daughters, Rebecca Edwards of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Tina Stackhouse of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one sister, Nancy D’Armon of Weatherford, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ruth Hodge, by one brother, Rodney Hodge, by her father-in-law, Clyde Stackhouse, by her mother-in-law, Joyce Stackhouse-Brand, and by one brother-in-law (Ronnie’s twin brother) Don Stackhouse.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church, located on Wanda Jackson Blvd in Maud, Oklahoma. Bob Woods and Hugh D. Megee will officiate the service.
The family request that donations be sent to "The Breast Cancer Research Foundation," 60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022 or online at [email protected] in memory of Janice Stackhouse.
