Mrs. Evelyn Nancy Miller Southerland, age 85, of Villa Rica, passed away, Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

She was born June 22, 1931 in Carroll County the daughter of the late Mr. Dewey L. Miller and the late Mrs. Nancy Jane Cole Miller.

Mrs. Southerland loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, wearing lots of jewelry and sunglasses, and making people laugh. She cared for others and always found joy in every situation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Sanford; son, Steve Southerland; son-in-law, Marshall Bennett; siblings, Lawrence Miller, Leonard Miller, Lowell Miller, Elsie Blankenship, Julian Miller and Watson Miller.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky Bennett of Villa Rica, Nancy Bressner of Summerville, Ginger Smith of Austell; son, Ken Southerland of Sandy Springs; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.

Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Pine Knoll Nursing Home Staff for the care of Mrs. Southerland the last five years.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions to be made to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/donate.
