Sergeant First Class Tony Henry, age 49, of Covington, passed away February 7, 2017. He was born in Atlanta on February 28, 1967. SFC Henry graduated from the 76th Trooper School in January of 2001 and for the past 16 years has been assigned to the Governor’s Executive Security serving for Governors Roy Barnes, Sonny Perdue and Nathan Deal. Tony is best described as “A Trooper’s Trooper”, a loving, compassionate; husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was preceded in death his father; William Henry.

SFC Henry is survived by his wife; Trudy Henry, his children; Jacob, Jared, Jackson, and Neely, his mother; Betty Henry, his brother and sister-in-law; William, Jr. and Billie Ann Henry of Covington, his sister; Dianne Vater of Woodstock, his mother and father-in-law; Peggy and Bobby Lassiter of Covington and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Dodie and Chad Cason of McDonough along with numerous other family and a host of friends.

Funeral services for SFC Henry will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at The Church at Covington with Pastor Jason Johnson officiating. His casket will be placed in state at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at J.C.
