Paula Ann Leonard Harvey, born Dec. 24, 1946, died in North Oaks Hospital at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016.

She was a revered member of the Bogalusa High School Class of 1964. Her high school yearbook motto was "Christ first, others second, myself last." Her ambition: "To find the career I want and work hard to make it." As all her family and acquaintance knows, her entire life exemplified those values.

Paula was a dedicated employee at Social Security Administration for over 25 years and served both the Bogalusa and Hammond communities faithfully in that time. As the youngest child of 12 children, Paula was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lela Leonard of Bogalusa; six elder sisters, and five elder brothers. She was also preceded by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Harvey of Bogalusa; and one son-in-law, Benjamin L. King, who lived in Hammond.

She is survived by her children, Benjamin and Tanya Harvey of Albany, Melissa Harvey King of Hammond, and Deborah and Justin Ayme of Hammond. She has five surviving grandchildren: Tyler C. Harvey, Eryn Harvey Lee, Mariah King, Micheal King and Mallory King Faurie. Among the family members she leaves behind are many nieces and nephews that Paula held dear and loved like her own. She was known for her loving nature and good heart.

Visitation was held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. in Hammond, on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. that morning.
