Following an illness of five years from tuberculosis, Harold J. Wise, 31 years old, formerly of this city, died on Saturday at the Dermady Sanatarium, near Swathmore. For a number of years he was manager of the Hamilton Coal Company yards at Eleventh and Church streets. He was a veteran of the World War and well known in local sport circles. He left Wilmington for Nashville, Tenn., two years ago, where an attempt was made to cure him of the white plague. Later he went to the Dermady Sanatarium. He was a member of Wilmington Lodge, A. F. and A. M.
Funeral Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Wise, with Rev. B. M. Johns, pastor of Grace M. E. Church, officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Pleasanton Wise, his son, James Leon Wise, one sister, Miss Edna M. Wise, of East Arlington, N. J. and Joseph Wise, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
