Johnny Ray “Rerun” Farmer, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ray Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bruce Martin, Chaplain Dan McKinney and Pastor Frank Spaulding officiating. Interment will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.
A Rockingham County native, Johnny was born September 27, 1961 the son of Rink Farmer and Maggie Farmer. He was of the Baptist faith. Johnny was employed by Estes Express Lines in Greensboro. Johnny’s hobbies included riding in his sand rail and watching NASCAR.
Johnny’s passion in life was driving his race car and spending time with his two girls and granddaughter. He was a loving son, father and grandfather. He loved everyone and everyone, in return, loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Robin Hickman; two brothers, Stoney Farmer and Doc Farmer.
Johnny is survived by two daughters, Nicole Reeder and husband Shawn and Delanie Farmer, all of Stoneville; two brothers, Wayne Farmer and wife Chong of Spanaway, WA and Leon Farmer and wife Janice of Stoneville; granddaughter, Aubree Reeder; former wife and mother of his children, Sheila Shively of Stoneville; special friend Karen Fulp, special nephew, Andy Hickman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
