Jerry L. Snyder, 63, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital. Jerry was born in Van Wert, Ohio on February 16, 1953 to the late Gerald and Corrine (Straley) Snyder. On December 9, 1972, he married Peggy Ann Ross.
Jerry was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a mechanic and also a truck driver for Gelco Trucking in Ft. Wayne and Ruan in Decatur. He was a 1971 Crestview High School graduate.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Snyder of Decatur; son, Cary (Julie) Snyder of Convoy, OH; daughter, Jennifer (Ray) Buffenbarger of Ohio City, OH; brother, Jack (Debbie) Snyder of Ohio City, OH; four sisters, Barb (Dan) Everidge of Ohio City, OH, Nancy (Karl) Hans of Churubusco, IN, Norma (Dean) Schweizer of Celina, OH and Margaret (Mike) Fetcho of Holland, OH and five grandsons, Jacob, Micah, Joshua, Jordan and Maddox.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with calling prior from 11:00 am. – 1:00 p.m. Father Bob J. Lengerich will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
