She attended Parkwood Church of God.
She worked at the Social Security Administration in Birmingham for 35 years.
In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling in their RV with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Shelton.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Dodson; daughters, Donna Franklin (Earnest), and Joy Scurlock (Don); grandchildren, Justin Franklin, Eric Dodson (Marci), Rachel Dodson, Blake Scurlock (Megan), and Dustin Scurlock; and great-grandchildren, William Dodson, Eddie Dodson, and Ellery Scurlock.
