Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Dunaway and the late Peggy Johnson Dunaway Moon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, John B. Moon.
Mary Lee was a member of the Community Fellowship Baptist Church and a teaching assistant in the Campbell Co. Public School System. She was a former employee of U.P.S. for 17 years. Mary Lee was a very perky and upbeat person who was loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan R. Merryman (Lindsey) of Concord, N.C. and Stephen B. Merryman (Shelby) of Rustburg and one sister, Elizabeth D. Vaughn (Richard) of Rustburg.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Community Fellowship Baptist Church, 10629 Wards Rd., Rustburg, VA 24588.
