Rhonda Ball Hicks

WINSTON-SALEM | Rhonda Ball Hicks, 51, of McGee Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at her home.

The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. on at Rich Fork Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. Byron Barker and Daniel Hilty. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hicks was born July 25, 1952, in Thomasville to Bruce Ball and Jean Tate Ball and lived in the Midway community most of her life. She was a graduate of Greensboro College and was an elementary school teacher at Davis-Townsend Elementary School. She was an active and vibrant member of her church, where she was a faithful member of the Celebration Choir and was the Children's Choir coordinator. She founded and taught the Rainbow Class, a class for those people with special needs.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Vernon Hicks of the home; a daughter, Kristen Hilty and her husband, Daniel, of Fayette, Mo.; a son, Brian Hicks and his wife, Jackie, of Midway; and one beloved grandson, Master Elijah Tate Hilty of Fayette, Mo.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. The body will remain at the funeral home until being placed in the church Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Children's Programs of Rich Fork Baptist Church, 3993 Old Highway 29, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.
