Ms. Candace Jaye "Candy" Cooper, 57, a longtime resident of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening in Gainesville, Florida. She moved to Lake City at the age of six(6) with her parents, William A. Cooper and Connie Brown Bulthuis and her siblings. She was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1977 and was a graduate Registered Nurse with her degree from the Lake City Community College. Ms. Cooper had worked at several different facilities over the past 30 years in Columbia, Suwannee, Hamilton, and Alachua Counties. One of her favorite positions was working with residents of Avalon in Lake City.She was extremely excited about her current venture with Stanley Health Care in Gainesville. In her spare time, Ms. Cooper was an avid reader, a movie and sports enthusiast ; she loved animals and enjoyed the ballet.Her favorite time was time spent with her family, especially her beloved daughter, Cadee. Ms. Cooper was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cannon Creek Ward. She is survived by her daughter, Cadee Rose Cooper, her sister, Jill Harris of Lake City; brothers, Mike Cooper (Gloria) of Jacksonville, and Howard "Scooter" Bulthuis(Kathy) of Lake City; her step-father, Howard Bulthuis of Lake City and her step-mother, Gayle Thomas (Tommie) of Jacksonville; a step-brother, Russell Snyder of Jacksonville, and step-sister, Lisa Snyder of Georgia. Special nieces and nephews, Gracie Harris, Dawson Bulthuis, Ashley Salvatore (Joe), Mikee Vonk (Troy), Josh Cooper (Tina), her aunt, Ruth Bridges and her "Georgia Family". Funeral services for Ms. Cooper will be conducted at 3:30 pm , Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the LDS Stake Center on Country Club Rd., with Elder Dennis Register conducting. Interment will follow in the Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7;00 pm on Wednesday evening in the chapel of Dees-Parrish Funeral Home.
