SSG Abraham Lincoln Fields, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Spring Lake, NC.

Staff Sergeant Abraham Lincoln Fields was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, SSG Fields served our country until November 15th, 1965 in South Vietnam. He was 36 years old and was married. It was reported that Abraham died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a mine. His body was recovered. SSG Fields is on panel 03E, line 055 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 16 years.

Abraham was a fine young man who dressed well and his cars were brand new as he bought them straight from Detroit. Abraham was a happy-go-lucky guy who loved his family and the Military. Nancy Fields.

He was the Husband of Mrs Eleanor B Fields, 5062 Shirley Drive, Columbus, GA. Son of Mr James Monroe and Mrs Eulah V Fields, Route 1, Box 165, Meredithville, VA.

He served with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division (AMBL), USARV.

He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
