Warren John Johnson, 76, Floodwood, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 6, 2017. Warren was born on August 13, 1940 in Cedar Valley Township to Leo and Elina (Mattila) Johnson. Warren graduated from Floodwood High School in 1958. He attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth for 2 years, then he attended the Dunwoody Industrial Institute for 2 years, graduating in 1966. Warren was employed at Honeywell, Inc. as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker and worked there for 9 years. Later, he worked at Moline, Inc. in Duluth, and finally at Hibbing Taconite as a Maintenance Mechanic for more than 30 years, retiring in 2006.

Warren met the love of his life, Bernice Siermala in 1958 and they were united in marriage on October 8, 1960 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Floodwood. They enjoyed traveling to almost all of our United States and into Canada. Warren loved hunting, fishing, working in the woods, mechanics, working in his shop, and watching his children and grandchildren play in all sports. He was an avid fan of the Floodwood Polar Bears.

Warren was a member of First Lutheran Church in Meadowlands. He was willing to help anyone who was in need of assistance and he always insisted on “no pay”.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Elina Johnson; brother, Jack Johnson; and sisters, Patricia and Shelley Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bernice; daughter, Yvonne (John) Belden; sons: Michael (Robin), and Forrest; grandchildren: Tori (Jake Myrvold) Johnson, Cody Johnson, Lacey Johnson, Christopher (Tanya) Belden, Dakota Johnson, Joshua (Maddie) Belden, and Samantha (Dre Ghoram) Johnson; three great grandchildren, and one more on the way; brothers: Ralph (Jeanette), Daniel (Bonnie), John (Shirley), and Roy (Sue); sisters: Leona (James) Emanuelson, Gloria Johnson, Mona (Richard) Koivisto, and Lisa (Larry) Anderson.

Burial in the Cedar Valley Cemetery.
