Son of Robert Jefferson "Jeff" Fulton and Sarah Thompson. On December 14, 1863, Robert enrolled in Company H., 2nd Reg't of the Vermont Volunteers, under Lt. Charles K Leach. In May 1864, Robert received a wound to his left hand. The following September he was shot in the left foot. Still, he returned to duty and in the late spring 1865 he was at Appomattox, He was discharged at Halls Hill, Virginia on July 15, 1865.
Robert and Cordelia had 12 children. The graves of the following have not been found.
